Important Notes

All tourists (except citizens of India, Bangladesh, and Maldives) must book their trip through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator or one of their international partners. The tour operator will arrange the visa clearance prior to arrival. The visa fee is USD 40, but the overall cost of visiting Bhutan is significantly higher due to the mandatory daily Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and tour package expenses. Visa approval is typically granted once the full payment for the tour package and SDF has been received by the tour operator and remitted to the Tourism Council of Bhutan. The visa is stamped upon arrival at Paro International Airport or other entry points.
