Citizens of North Macedonia can travel to France and other Schengen Area countries for tourism, business, or family visits for up to 90 days within any 180-day period without a visa. This visa-free status is for short stays only. For longer stays (e.g., work, study, or residency), a national visa for France would be required. ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) will become operational in mid-2025, and North Macedonian citizens will need to apply for an ETIAS authorization before traveling to the Schengen Area, which will cost 7 EUR and be valid for 3 years.
