Recent changes to Libya's visa policy have generally aimed at tightening controls, especially in light of the country's ongoing security challenges. While there have been occasional reports of efforts to simplify procedures for specific business or investment purposes, a widespread relaxation of tourist visa policies has not occurred. Travelers should be prepared for a rigorous application process, potential delays, and a high likelihood of refusal if they do not have a legitimate, government-approved invitation.
