Important Notes

Japanese citizens can enter the Netherlands and other Schengen Area countries for tourism, business, or short-term visits for up to 90 days within any 180-day period without a visa. This period applies to the entire Schengen Area, not per country. From mid-2025, Japanese citizens will need to apply for an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorisation System) authorization before traveling to the Schengen Area, which is not a visa but a travel authorization.
