Yemen's visa policy is highly restrictive and complex, primarily due to the ongoing conflict and severe security situation within the country. As of late 2023 and early 2024, obtaining a visa for Yemen, especially for tourism, is exceptionally difficult, if not impossible, for most foreign nationals. The country is largely inaccessible to independent travelers, and most governments advise against all travel to Yemen. There are no readily available standard visa application processes for tourist or business visas through typical consular channels for most nationalities.

Historically, Yemen offered tourist, business, and transit visas. However, these systems are effectively suspended or operate under highly unusual circumstances. There are no visa-free agreements in place for Yemen with major blocs like the Schengen Area, the US, or the UK. Any entry into Yemen typically requires prior approval from the Yemeni authorities, often facilitated through local contacts or organizations with established presence and influence within the country. This is not a standard visa application process but rather a special permission or sponsorship arrangement.

Due to the conflict, there have been significant changes to Yemen's visa policy, primarily moving towards extreme restriction. Processing times, if any official channels were available, would be highly unpredictable. Currently, visas are primarily issued for humanitarian workers, journalists, or individuals with specific diplomatic or official assignments, and even then, entry is fraught with danger and logistical challenges. Travelers should be aware that even if a visa is somehow obtained, the security risks within Yemen are extreme, and consular assistance from foreign governments is virtually non-existent.
