Important Notes

Japanese citizens are eligible for a 30-day Visa on Arrival (VOA) at international airports in Iran (e.g., Tehran, Shiraz, Isfahan, Mashhad, Tabriz). While VOA is available, obtaining an authorization code (visa reference number) from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in advance through an authorized Iranian travel agency or the e-Visa portal is strongly recommended. This significantly streamlines the process upon arrival and minimizes potential delays or refusal. The fee is approximately 80 EUR (or equivalent in USD/local currency) and can vary. Women must adhere to Islamic dress code upon arrival. US, UK, and Canadian citizens are NOT eligible for VOA and must travel with an approved tour.
