Requirements

  • 1.Duly filled and signed Schengen visa application form
  • 2.Passport valid for at least three months beyond the intended departure date from the Schengen area, with at least two blank pages, issued within the last 10 years
  • 3.Two recent passport-sized photographs (3.5 x 4.5 cm), in color, white background, taken within the last 6 months
  • 4.Proof of accommodation (e.g., hotel booking, invitation letter from host)
  • 5.Proof of travel insurance covering medical emergencies and repatriation, with a minimum coverage of €30,000, valid throughout the Schengen area for the entire duration of stay
  • 6.Flight reservation (return ticket)
  • 7.Proof of sufficient funds (e.g., bank statements for the last 3-6 months, pay slips, sponsorship letter)
  • 8.Employment letter/certificate (if employed)
  • 9.Business registration documents (if self-employed)
  • 10.Student ID and enrollment letter (if student)
  • 11.Marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • 12.Birth certificates of accompanying minors (if applicable)
  • 13.Cover letter explaining the purpose of travel and itinerary
  • 14.Original and photocopy of previous Schengen visas (if any)

Important Notes

The visa fee is 80 EUR, which is approximately 80 USD (subject to exchange rate fluctuations). Processing time can extend up to 45 days in certain cases. All documents must be submitted in English or German, or accompanied by a certified translation. Applicants must attend an interview at the German Embassy/Consulate or VFS Global office in Nigeria. The 90-day stay duration refers to '90 days within any 180-day period'.
